2023-06-15
According to a report by Sina Technology, rumors of 'ASUS planning massive layoffs' have been circulating online, prompting ASUS to issue a statement yesterday emphasizing that while there are indeed plans for organizational restructuring, mass layoffs are not a fact.
ASUS Group will undergo a large-scale organizational consolidation, which reportedly involves streamlining the workforce and initiating voluntary retirement actions within the company. Four departments and hundreds of employees are affected, with the personal computer team being the hardest hit.
In the statement, ASUS pointed out, 'We have always been focused on winning the future, with the goal of establishing a stronger competitive advantage in the industry. We will also strengthen the differentiation of the company's three major business segments: core business, strategic business, and growth business. As part of this adjustment, the Systems Business Group will be divided into three major product departments: Consumer, Commercial (including the original Consumer Desktop and AIO), and Mobile, collectively driving future growth.'
It is reported that ASUS has over 7,000 employees in Taiwan, and it is expected that the current wave of voluntary retirement will affect more than a hundred employees.
