Bona has announced the production of a new film titled 'The Wenchuan Earthquake,' directed by Chen Guohui and produced by Liu Weiqiang.

Yu Dong explained why they chose to make this film, stating that the stories of the earthquake have remained vivid in his mind after fifteen years, and it is a weighty memory. They had planned to make the film ten years ago but decided to prepare thoroughly before taking it up again. Yu Dong revealed one of the stories, which focuses on a news reporter's journey through aftershocks. He emphasized the lack of the journalistic spirit prevalent in today's era of copy-and-paste media.

Chen Guohui disclosed that they have been conducting research and interviews for eight years, becoming friends with many survivors. People frequently ask him when the film will be made.
