According to the National Film Administration, the script outline for the film "Human·Fish" was filed and approved in July 2023. The screenplay is penned by Cheng Er.
Prior to this, director Cheng Er confirmed during an event that he will be working with Wang Yibo, the lead actor from "Nameless," for his next film project, "Human·Fish." They even traveled to Tokyo together to scout for locations.
Synopsis: Set in the heartland of the Greater Khingan Mountains, a young individual is confronted for the first time by temptations from the distant and sweltering South, encountering the exotic mix of Vietnam's Hanoi. The film also delves into the bittersweet life of a middle-aged man and his unique mermaid performance, along with the story of a female college student from Aomori, Japan, pursuing art.
