The 68-year-old Chow Yun-fat remains very active and is currently busy promoting his new movie 'Don't Call Me 'God of Gamblers'.'
To thank the enthusiastic support of fans, Chow Yun-fat, along with his on-screen son Ke Wei-lin, director Pan Yaoming, and producer Huang Bin, had close encounters with the audience at various cinemas in Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
Chow Yun-fat and Ke Wei-lin, who are avid runners, broke the norm by running between different cinemas from morning till night, earning the nickname 'Running Cinemas'.
Even fans from countries like South Korea, Italy, and Japan were attracted to come and watch. Chow Yun-fat fluently communicated with fans in Korean, Japanese, and even took selfies with them, creating a lively atmosphere at the scene.
Due to the intensive schedule, Chow Yun-fat, who is accustomed to going to bed early and waking up early, was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the 4th. He expressed that he needs some rest before he can continue 'running cinemas' with the audience.
'I originally promised everyone to continue 'running cinemas' and meeting with you all this week, but I haven't been feeling well these past couple of days. After a quick screening, I was diagnosed with COVID-19, and temporarily unable to meet the audience. I will return to the cinemas and meet everyone once I have fully recovered! 'Don't Call Me 'God of Gamblers'' is directed by Pan Yaoming, written by Zhuang Wenqiang, and stars Chow Yun-fat and Carina Lau. The supporting cast includes Eddie Ko, Raymond J. Barry, Zane Huett, and Bai Zhi.
The movie tells the story of a carefree braggart, Fai (Chow Yun-fat), who agrees to temporarily take care of his former lover Li Xi's (Carina Lau) son for a price of one hundred thousand dollars. Later, he discovers that the boy is his own son and also has autism, which changes his life forever. As the father-son bond grows stronger, they face the news of Li's passing.
