This movie is the first DC superhero blockbuster with a Latinx protagonist and focuses on three generations of Blue Beetles, particularly Jaime Reyes. He is a Mexican-American teenager living in Texas who returns to his hometown after graduating from college, full of ambition and searching for his purpose. Jaime unexpectedly comes into possession of a blue scarab, which chooses him as its host, transforming him into a superhero with an armored exoskeleton and the ability to create weapons. Blue Beetle can fly, possesses enhanced strength and stamina, and has the power to translate alien languages.
