Koo shared, "Even though it takes a good 4 hours each time for the 'destruction look' makeup, seeing a version of myself in the mirror that's completely unrecognizable really aids in getting into the character's mindset. So, it doesn't feel arduous at all. The special effects makeup actually enhances my ability to shape the character better."

Director Felix Chau added, "The adhesive used for the special effects makeup can be quite harsh on the skin, especially considering Louis Koo's sensitive skin. "Storm of Assassins" is adapted from a highly acclaimed suspense novel by Zhou Haohui.
