Renowned American actor Ryan O'Neal passed away on December 8 at the age of 82. O'Neal, a prominent Hollywood star in the 1970s, collaborated with the biggest directors of that era. One of his most recognized works is "Love Story." With this film, he received a Best Actor nomination at the 43rd Academy Awards and won the Best Foreign Actor award at the 15th David di Donatello Awards.
In 2015, he reunited with the female lead of "Love Story," Ali MacGraw, to star in the two-person stage play "Love Letters."
Diagnosed with chronic leukemia in 2001 and later prostate cancer in 2012, Ryan O'Neal's son stated in a release, "As a person, my father was incredibly generous. Wherever he was, he was the most humorous and apparently the most handsome. He loved making people happy; that was almost his goal in life."
After being diagnosed with leukemia, he took a step back and led a semi-retired life, appearing in American TV series such as "Bones" and "Desperate Housewives."
