Hollywood to Remake "Creation of the Gods" - Jia Ling as Producer

As reported by "Entertainment Weekly," Sony Pictures has secured the rights to remake the 2021 Chinese comedy film "Creation of the Gods" into an English-language version.
The screenplay for this adaptation will be penned by Laura Kosann, known for "The Social Ones." The production team includes Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Becky Sanderman, and Wenxin She as producers, with the original director, Jia Ling, serving as an executive producer.
Jia Ling expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating, "I'm looking forward to this project and am thrilled that my mother and my story can be shared with a wider audience. I believe that everyone's story with their mother is unique, but the love contained within these stories is universal, and we can all relate to it."
"Creation of the Gods" tells the story of a woman who travels back in time to meet her younger mother and was a massive success in mainland China during the 2021 Spring Festival, grossing over 5.4 billion yuan.
