According to Sina Entertainment, the film 'A Meaningful Trip' competed in the main competition unit of the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Producer Cao Baoping and director/screenwriter Liu Jiayin attended the opening ceremony and media conference along with the leading actor Hu Ge, and actors Wu Lei, Qi Xi, and special guest Bai Ke.
Hu Ge portrays an introverted observer named Wen Shan, who occasionally smiles to appear happy but hides his true feelings.
When discussing how to shape the character, Hu Ge mentioned that in this somewhat healing story, he found similarities with his own experiences in recent years. After his mother's passing in 2019, he admitted, 'I never had the courage to face this matter. It's my fortune to encounter Wen Shan. In fact, when I met this character, he has truly been healing and warming me. I have been transitioning between being Wen Shan and the character who is healed by him.'
During the subsequent media conference, Hu Ge sincerely shared his own healing experience with the film 'A Meaningful Trip': 'I was deeply moved when I first read the script. The people who can meet Wen Shan in the script are actually very fortunate. They encounter Wen Shan when they need someone to bring them warmth. This film has a strong impact, and I hope the audience can also feel the warmth and healing after watching it.'
