The movie tells the story of lawyer Ding Yifeng (Huang Xiaoming), who takes on what seems to be an ironclad case. Determined to defend the suspect Jin Ximei and clear her name, he is surprised to find that she desires death more than anything else. As Ding Yifeng investigates and defends, the film leads the audience to explore the truth behind the case.

In the latest promotional video shared by Huang Xiaoming, his image as Xiaoming-ge undergoes a drastic change, and netizens can't stop praising his successful transformation.

Regarding his portrayal of the lawyer character, Huang Xiaoming revealed that he voluntarily suggested portraying a disheveled lawyer with a significant contrast, and he went to great lengths, including losing thirty kilograms, to achieve it.

Huang Xiaoming admitted that Ding Yifeng is different from the usual portrayal of a well-dressed lawyer. He is a bit scruffy, with long hair and stubble, and leads an imperfect life. He would even resort to seemingly unethical and illegal means to win, a portrayal unlike any of his previous works.

He also expressed his desire for each of his roles to undergo changes and breakthroughs, bringing a fresh experience to the audience, even if it's just a small breakthrough.
