According to Japanese media reports, Third Wave Company has announced the production of Japan's inaugural esports-themed film titled "PLAY! It Doesn't Matter if You Win or Lose." The film is set to premiere in the coming spring.

The featured game in this movie is "Rocket League," with young actors Daiken Ohira and Oshi Suzuka in the lead roles, portraying the gaming novice "Shota" and the advanced player "Daro," respectively. Set against the backdrop of a technical institute in Tokushima Prefecture, the storyline is based on real male students who form a team to take on the national championship of "Rocket League."

"Rocket League" is a popular casual competitive online game developed by the game studio Psyonix, with Tencent Games handling its distribution and operation in the country.
