Today (September 21st), Toshio Suzuki, the CEO of Studio Ghibli, held a press conference at the company's studio in Tokyo to discuss the studio's incorporation into a subsidiary of Japanese Television. During the conversation, he mentioned Ghibli's latest work, "What Kind of Life Do You Want to Live," stating, "This project is already turning a profit," and revealed that the investment is expected to safely recoup.
The movie has attracted a total of 5.46 million viewers, with box office revenues exceeding 8.16 billion Japanese Yen (according to industry sources, as of September 18th). Mr. Suzuki stated, "I can attest that even if it takes seven years to produce, the profitability can still be quite impressive. I personally thought this would be a challenging endeavor."
