Wife Persuades Fan Zhiyi to Star in "Blooming Flowers" - Wong Kar-wai Says This Role Is Tailor-Made for Him

In the recently aired series "Blooming Flowers," renowned soccer player Fan Zhiyi made a cameo as Master Fan, a factory manager. During an interview, Fan Zhiyi revealed that when director Wong Kar-wai approached him, he was initially hesitant, as acting was not his forte.

"At first, I turned him down several times," he said. Wong Kar-wai remained patient and sincere, insisting, "This role is tailor-made for you." Fan Zhiyi admitted that it was his wife's persuasion that ultimately led him to give it a try and take on a role in the TV drama "Blooming Flowers."

Fan Zhiyi remarked, "I was internally resistant when I took on this role. My wife told me, 'Give it a shot. Wong Kar-wai is a heavyweight in the industry. It's not good to turn down an invitation from such a prominent director.'"
