After a 34-year hiatus, Chow Yun-fat returns to portray the 'Gamble King', departing from his previous glamorous image and embodying the new character Wu Guanghui. He also provides the Mandarin voiceover for the film.

Produced by Huang Bin, written by Zhuang Wenqiang, and directed by Pan Yaoming, the movie stars Chow Yun-fat and Yuan Yongyi in the lead roles. It also features performances by Eric Tsang, Ray Lui, Ng Man-tat, Anthony Wong, Michael Miu, Chui Bo-lun, and special appearance by Kent Cheng.
Based on a true story, the film depicts the life experiences and transformation of the Gamble King Wu Guanghui.
