"Auburn Homer" surpasses "Dream Seekers" at the North American box office, ending this Friday with a total of $293.27 million, taking just 36 days to exceed "Dream Seekers" ($292.6M). It's now director Christopher Nolan's third highest-grossing film, following "The Dark Knight" ($535M) and "The Dark Knight Rises" ($448.1M).
This 3-hour R-rated film is projected to overtake "Little Mermaid" ($297.2M) as this weekend's fifth highest-grossing film of the year. This achievement marks another film in 2023 to break the $300 million domestic box office threshold, following "Super Mario," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," "Spider-Man: Across the Universe," and "Barbie."
The movie is set to hit theaters in the US on August 30th, and advance ticket sales are already underway.
