Oscar set up a crisis team to avoid similar incidents of Emperor Shi slapping again
2023-02-23
Today (February 23), according to IGN news, the Oscar Academy will set up a team called the "Crisis Team" to ensure that incidents like Will Smith's slap will not happen again.
Recently, Bill Kramer, director and chairman of the Oscar Film Museum, accepted an interview with the media. He said that Oscar has established a crisis team with a complete backup plan to deal with various emergencies and unexpected events that may occur.
The Academy admitted it was unprepared for last year's slap, but this year it was prepared. "Because of last year, we're going to be taking steps for a lot of things that could happen at the Oscars in the future. Of course we hope that doesn't happen and we never have to use that, but we've got the framework in place to deal with it."
Actor Will Smith takes to the stage to slap comedian Chris Rock during his best documentary award at the 94th Academy Awards in 2022. The reason is that Locke made fun of Smith's wife's alopecia areata, and Smith defended his wife's dignity by doing so. This year's Oscars are scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 12.
