"The Legend of Zelda" Film Project: Aspiring to Infuse Miyazaki Style

Recently, Wes Ball, the planner of the live-action film "The Legend of Zelda" (known for directing "The Maze Runner" and "Planet of the Apes"), shared his vision for this adaptation in an interview with "Entertainment Weekly." He revealed that his concept for the film was inspired by the co-founder of Studio Ghibli and director of "Spirited Away," Hayao Miyazaki, and he hopes to incorporate that magical style into the movie.
Wes Ball believes that "The Legend of Zelda" movie is "a fantastic fantasy adventure, unlike 'The Lord of the Rings,' it has its own uniqueness." He said, "I would love to see a live-action Miyazaki film. The wonders and imaginative elements he brings to things, I am eager to experience in this film."
As early as 2010, Wes Ball expressed his desire to see "The Legend of Zelda" on the big screen, stating that his entire life has been anticipating this moment.
The film adaptation of "The Legend of Zelda" is a collaboration between Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment, co-produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions. The production team includes Nintendo representative director and researcher Shigeru Miyamoto and Hollywood veteran producer and former Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, Avi Arad. We look forward to this film capturing the magic of Miyazaki on the big screen.
