Quentin Tarantino Reveals Plans for His Final Directorial Work in Cannes Post-Screening Interview

Recently, at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival, Quentin Tarantino, the acclaimed director, was invited to the Directors' Fortnight section. He surprised the audience by screening his favorite film 'Inglourious Basterds' and participated in a post-screening interview.

During the interview, Tarantino revealed his plans for his final directorial work. He announced that it would be a story about a film critic set in California in 1977. Contrary to rumors about it being based on the New Yorker film critic Pauline Kael, the film's protagonist will be an unknown, second-rate critic. Tarantino described him as someone who writes reviews for mainstream movies, a mediocre film critic who holds himself in high regard, just like Robert De Niro's character in 'Taxi Driver' becoming a film critic.

Regarding the actor, Tarantino disclosed that the character would be around 35 years old, and he is looking for an actor who hasn't collaborated with him before. He emphasized that he won't consider British or Australian actors and wants to cast an American actor to bring authenticity to the role with a native accent. The film is expected to begin pre-production work next month.
