August 2023 Sees Record-breaking $750 Million Total Box Office with "All In" Taking the Lead

On August 29th, according to data from Maoyan Professional Edition, the total box office revenue for domestic theaters in August 2023 surpassed an impressive $750 million. At the forefront of this remarkable achievement is the movie "All In," raking in a staggering $343 million, accounting for an astonishing 45.8% of the total box office share.

In addition to "All In," "The First Chronicle of the Gods" and "Megashark 2: Abyss" secured the 2nd and 3rd spots on the August box office chart, both achieving commendable results.

Produced by Ning Hao and directed by Shen Ao, "All In" boasts a star-studded cast including Zhang Yixing, Dilraba Dilmurat, Angela Baby, and Darren Wang, with special appearances by Wang Dalu and Zhou Ye, and featuring Sun Yang and Deng Cuiwen in leading roles. The film draws inspiration from tens of thousands of real fraud cases, unveiling for the first time on the big screen the sinister underbelly of the complete overseas online fraud industry.

Within the movie, Darren Wang takes on the role of the head of a fraud syndicate, Mr. Lu. Responding to remarks from viewers that his performance is "too authentic," Wang humorously commented, "Of course, it's acting! The director thoroughly investigated me, and only with a clear understanding was I daring enough to bring it to life."
