Let go of the shopkeeper? Guy Ritchie says 'Sherlock Holmes 3' is up to Downey

Director Guy Ritchie said in an interview with Collider that whether "Sherlock Holmes 3" can be filmed depends on Robert Downey Jr.

"Well, honestly, I'm leaving this up to Robert Downey Jr., and he wants to be in charge of it. The initiative is in his hands, he's in charge of the script, he's in charge of the whole thing. Until the time comes, I'm Will always stay out of it.”

Last year, Downey said he planned to further expand his Sherlock Holmes series. He's reportedly working on multiple Sherlock Holmes spinoffs for HBO Max, but it's unclear if he'll play the detective in any of them, which Sherlock Holmes 3 doesn't include.
