More Lord of the Rings films are in the works, according to Deadline.
Warner Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced that Warner Bros. Pictures has once again won the film remake rights of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit". The new contract also includes a number of new films based on the series of novels, which will be developed and produced by New Line.
New Line and Warner Bros. Animation are currently producing The Lord of the Rings: The Desolation of Roherim, an original animation set 183 years before the events of The Lord of the Rings. The film, which tells the fate of the legendary King of Rohan, the Hamhand family, will be released on April 12, 2024.
