Warner CEO says the first streaming of movies has no value, and the strategy will shift to movie theaters

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said on a recent earnings call that the strategy will shift from direct streaming to theatrical distribution.
Zaslav cites an analysis of HBO Max streaming metrics showing that exclusive releases on the platform provide no return on investment and should bring it back to theaters. Zaslav pointed out that watching the movie live can make the audience feel more anticipation and excitement, and the film's "actual perceived value will increase."
