The TV series 'My Human Fireworks' recently reached its grand finale, and its Douban rating has dropped from an initial 4.1 to 3.8. Among the over 200,000 user reviews, 57% gave it a one-star rating. The plot of the show has been the subject of much discussion, including an incident where the use of a fire extinguisher raised concerns from the Chaozhou Fire Department. Surprisingly, the show has now become a hot topic due to Yang Yang's sleeping posture.

The reason for trending on social media is Yang Yang's 'serious' sleeping posture in the series. Compared to the sleeping postures of most people, Yang Yang keeps his head, neck, and shoulders in a straight line, making many netizens think his neck looks tired.

Based on the principle of leverage, some netizens have calculated that Yang Yang's sleeping posture exerts a force of about 80N on his neck, which is equivalent to carrying a weight of 16 kilograms, as if he had 16 bottles of mineral water hanging on his neck.

Dr. Wu Lianguo, head of the Orthopedic Department at Zhejiang University School of Medicine, stated that an 'empty neck, tense muscles' sleeping position like Yang Yang's could easily lead to cervical problems. This sleeping posture keeps the neck suspended and in a rigid state, lacking the necessary support for maintaining a normal physiological curvature.

There are generally three recommended sleeping positions: lying on the back, side sleeping (left or right), and sleeping on the stomach. Doctors point out that each posture has its pros and cons. For instance, lying on the back provides the largest contact area between the body and the bed, leading to better relaxation and improved blood circulation in the body and brain. Side sleeping, on the other hand, can prevent soft tissues in the throat and tongue from collapsing backward, reducing the pressure on the airway caused by fat tissues in the neck and chest.

If we consider the spine, lying flat on the back would be the best sleeping position, but it does not exactly match the curvature of the human spine. Doctors suggest that people can use pillows to support the neck, waist, and the hollow of the knees to maintain a more natural spinal curve.
