The crime film "Riverbank Errors," starring Zhu Yilong, is set to premiere on the 21st of this month. The movie is an adaptation of Yu Hua's pioneering work of the same name. Recently, the original author, Yu Hua, jokingly expressed disappointment in an interview, regarding the fact that they had finally made a movie out of it.
He said, "The rights to 'Riverbank Errors' have been sold several times, and even Zhang Yimou bought them. They sold them one by one, but it was never filmed. I thought that after selling the rights this time, it wouldn't be filmed, but they did, and it left me quite disappointed."
"I hope my novels keep selling movie rights but don't get filmed right away. It would be best if they waited five years before selling them again. Once they're filmed, the rights can't be sold again. So, I feel somewhat disappointed."
