Zhang Yimou, through @Yimou Studio, posted a heartfelt tribute to director Guo Baochang of "The Mansion Endures" fame. Upon learning of Mr. Guo Baochang's passing, we are deeply saddened. In '82, as a young team newly arrived at Guangxi Studios, we were recommended and appreciated by "Mr. Guo." We are forever grateful for his support. Each time we dined at his place, he would passionately discuss his dreams related to "The Mansion Endures," and those memories remain vivid. Mr. Guo Baochang, may you rest in peace, and his creations will endure, just as there's still "The Mansion" in heaven.
On October 11, 2023, legendary director Guo Baochang passed away in Beijing at the age of 83.
