The narrative begins when, still at the height of the pandemic, Barça suffered a resounding 2-8 defeat to Bayern Munich in Lisbon in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. It closes with the 2022/23 pre-season and the signing of new players, led by Robert Lewandowski.

However, Joan LaPorta’s reelection as president redirects the team down a path of success.

The 2021-22 season doesn’t start well for FC Barcelona. After a lifetime of wearing the Barça colors, Leo Messi is not on the team anymore. This change results in the dismissal of Ronald Koeman. Problems are increasing, such as Ansu Fati is injured again and Agüero needs to retire. Considering this, Xavi Hernández is chosen to save the project.
