Marvel Superstars and Their Muscle-Building Secrets: Up to 75% Reportedly Using Enhancing Drugs
2023-09-22
In a recent exposé published by "Fame and Fortune" on September 21st, it's been revealed that behind the scenes of Marvel movies, a significant number of actors, up to 75%, are believed to be using some form of performance-enhancing drugs (PED) to achieve their desired physique. "At least in the short term," they say. "I think the majority of actors have gone down this route."
"Many actors won't openly discuss this matter, but they collaborate with doctors, nutritionists, and coaches - it's a team effort. Going it alone is unwise. Importantly, these drugs can yield quick results, including steroids, testosterone, various androgens, and growth hormones, but they don't have any lasting effects on the body. They're not addictive."
However, maintaining peak physical condition in the Marvel universe isn't something that can be sustained indefinitely. "Especially as you age," notes Dr. Todd Schroeder, the Director of the Clinical Exercise Research Center at the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. "Take Robert Downey Jr., for example. He appeared in all the Iron Man movies, and in some of them, he had an impressive physique, but keeping that shape is quite challenging. The outside world has high expectations, especially when you're part of the Marvel universe, where you're required to appear in multiple films."
"So, if you're looking at a $10 million paycheck to meet a specific character's image, why not do it under a doctor's guidance?" Dr. Schroeder emphasizes.
He also specifically points out that Chris Hemsworth, who portrays Thor, is not among those users. "His physique has always been impressive. With his genetics, a little exercise, and he's in peak shape. Despite many speculating that he must be using steroids, my opinion is, 'No, he isn't.'"
