"Dumbledore" Michael Gambon has sadly passed away, and J.K. Rowling, the original author of "Harry Potter," tweeted in remembrance:
"I just learned the unfortunate news of Michael Gambon's passing. I first met him in 1982's 'King Lear.' If you had told me back then that this outstanding actor would go on to portray characters in my creations, I would have thought it was a fantasy. Michael was not only an outstanding actor but also an exceptional person. I feel privileged to have worked with him, not only in 'Harry Potter' but also in 'Casual Vacancy.' My deepest condolences to Michael's family and all who loved him."
Yesterday, Gambon's family released a statement, stating that he peacefully passed away in the hospital due to pneumonia, surrounded by his family, at the age of 82.
