The DC film "Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom" has been confirmed for a mainland China release in theaters, with the exact release date yet to be announced. It is set to premiere in North America on December 22nd.
Back in 2018, "Aquaman 1" made its debut in mainland China on December 7th, taking the lead over North America by a full 14 days.
In this sequel, the character formerly known as Black Manta, who couldn't defeat Aquaman before, is now hell-bent on avenging his father's death. He will stop at nothing to defeat Aquaman. He gets hold of a mysterious ancient artifact, the Black Trident, which can unleash ancient malevolent powers, making him even more formidable than ever. To combat Black Manta, Aquaman must seek the aid of his imprisoned brother Orm, who is the Atlantean king. They become unlikely allies, and the two brothers must put aside their differences to protect their kingdom, save their family, and ultimately, the world.
