Tencent Video Introduces Timid Mode: Automatically Adjusts Thrilling Music Volume When Watching Horror Movies

Many timid viewers of horror films tend to enable subtitles as a way of preparing themselves for high-tension moments. They proactively lower their phone's volume or block the screen to prevent being startled by terrifying scenes. Today, Tencent Video has announced the launch of the "Timid Viewing Mode," allowing users to easily activate this safeguard, eliminating the fear of missing out on the essence of numerous horror movies.
As revealed, once the "Timid Mode" is activated, magic subtitles will obscure intense horror scenes, and the hair-raising background music will automatically have its volume lowered. What's even more fascinating is that many horror films feature pitch-black backgrounds; however, with the Timid Mode, users can simply "turn on the lights" with a single click to illuminate the eerie surroundings.
However, currently, the "Timid Mode" is only compatible with five films: "Haunted Tales of Huang Temple," "Master of Yin and Yang," "Legendary Hunter of Xing'an Mountains 2," "Strange Tales of Night Patrol," and "River God." Users can enable the "Timid Mode" based on prompts while watching these films. Additionally, the Tencent Video app must be updated to the latest version 8.9.20.0 in order to access the "Timid Mode."
