The 'Speed and Furious' Series Is Being Developed with a Female-led Spinoff
2023-05-23
On Saturday, Vin Diesel announced at the CTAOP block party that the 'Fast and Furious' series is already in development for future installments, including a female-led project. "I've been developing this female spinoff since 2017... and other spinoffs as well. The sooner I finish the grand finale, the sooner I can release all the spinoffs," he said.
In an interview during the Rome premiere of 'Fast and Furious 10' on May 12, Vin Diesel joked about the possibility of splitting the finale into three movies. "Just look at how many characters and amazing actors are in this film," Diesel said when discussing the potential 12th movie. "Unless I give everyone a five-second cameo, I won't be able to complete this task."
During a previous red carpet event, Michelle Rodriguez, one of the main cast members of 'Fast and Furious,' revealed that Gal Gadot had a cameo in one of the earlier films but didn't make it to the final cut. Rodriguez also expressed uncertainty about her involvement in the spinoff, stating, "You have to pass the baton. Step back, sit in the passenger seat."
