Owner Regrets Buying House from 'Harry Potter,' Fans Visit Daily
2023-06-14
Fans of the 'Harry Potter' film series are well aware that Harry Potter lived with his uncle Vernon Dursley and his family at 4 Privet Drive before he enrolled in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. One of the iconic scenes is Harry Potter sleeping in a cupboard under the stairs.
In 2016, a British homeowner bought the famous 'Harry Potter' house for a substantial amount, with the listing price at £475,000. However, after moving in, they experienced numerous nightmares. Not only do fans dressed in costumes visit the house daily, but some even climb over the fences, leaving the owner astonished.
According to reports from The Daily Mail and The Mirror, the owner revealed that life hasn't been peaceful since moving into the 'Harry Potter' home. Fans dressed in costumes come in groups every day, and even after the owner finishes work, the street remains crowded. The situation becomes even more chaotic during school holidays.
The owner described the surreal experience of opening the curtains and seeing fans dressed in black robes, reenacting scenes from the movies or even crying with joy at the sight of his house. He couldn't help but exclaim, 'It's so strange.'
Furthermore, fans occasionally knock on the owner's door, and some even disregard their own safety by climbing over the fences or running onto the driveway to take pictures, causing significant inconvenience for the locals.
The owner also mentioned that he understands the excitement fans feel when they see the 'Harry Potter' house. Sometimes, he relocates his own vehicles to allow fans to take pictures. However, he hopes that fans can respect the locals and understand his perspective.
The owner also revealed that the room where Harry Potter slept under the stairs, enduring mistreatment from his aunt and uncle, still exists in the house. However, it is currently used to store items such as ironing boards, vacuum cleaners, and coats.
